  • Roofing with extremely long wooden elements for an indoor swimming pool in Luxembourg

    German architectural office Auer Weber designed the roof structure for the new indoor swimming pool at the Sports Centre Cents in Luxembourg. The ceiling was built using extremely long wooden elements, extending up to 23.75 metres. This enabled the long-spans and the attractive design of the roof.   • The world’s tallest wooden building Mjösa Tower completed in Norway

    The Mjösa Tower was officially opened on 15 March 2019, taking over the title of the world’s tallest wooden building. The 18-floor building, located in Brumunddal Norway, reaches up to a height of 85.4 metres. The building includes a hotel, private homes and office space.   • Metsä Wood: Modular wooden living on the rooftops of Poissy

    In response to housing challenges and environmental issues in urban areas, extending buildings upwards is a logical solution. As part of an urban development project in Poissy, near Paris, 33 new apartments were constructed on top of existing residential buildings. The apartments were built with prefabricated wooden modules made from fast, light and green Kerto® LVL products. Thanks to the prefabrication and light wooden structures, the construction took only six months to complete. / Metsä Wood
