Paper production in Finland will decline due to weak economic growth and permanently decreasing paper consumption in main markets. Sawnwood production will rise as a result of increasing export volumes outside Europe. Next year, Finnish forest industry’s production will partly pick up. Weakening lumber markets in Asia and Europe reduced demand for sawlogs in many countries late last year.
